The AMS1 data center opened in April 2020. In Phase 2 of the project, 12 megawatts of capacity was added to more than 3,600 square meters of data rooms within a record time of only nine months. The Drees & Sommer team had a key role in the technical implementation of the second phase. The technical specifications for a data center are very high, unlike office buildings. Cooling and climate control systems were installed, in addition to a complex power supply system with emergency power generators. To ensure failsafe operation of the data center, the individual systems were tested extensively during the final two months of the project.
