To support this bold goal, GEA partnered with Drees & Sommer to deliver Net Zero Carbon (NZC) audit services across its facilities in Europe, the USA, and China. This collaboration helped translate GEA’s climate vision into a structured and actionable roadmap for decarbonization.

In China, GEA operates two manufacturing sites—in Suzhou and Tianjin. Our technical experts visited both locations to conduct comprehensive assessments of the buildings and equipment. Through on-site inspections and in-depth interviews with key personnel, the team developed a clear understanding of daily operations and identified a range of improvement opportunities for further analysis.

To shape a decarbonization pathway aligned with GEA’s goals, we applied the Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) methodology. Each proposed measure was evaluated based on criteria such as capital expenditure, energy and carbon savings, return on investment, and timing of implementation. The result: a detailed, step-by-step roadmap showing how GEA can progressively reduce emissions and meet its 2040 net-zero target.
